Tamang Heritage Trail is a community-based trek that offers you the opportunity to explore the local culture and heritage of the Tamang people of Langtang region. Beside culture, the trail is equally rich in terms of scenery, the trail passes through beautiful landscape, lush forests of pine and rhododendron along with breathtaking views of the Langtang and the Ganesh himal range. Further the trail traverses through the natural hot spings of Tatopani, the sacred Parvati Kund Lake, the quaint Gatlang village and the historical fort of Rasuwagadhi. The trek begins from Saybru Besi and follows through Tatopani, Thuman, Briddim, Langtang Village, Kanjing Gompa and end in Syabru Besi.
Itinerary

Day 01KATHMANDU TO SYABRUBESI (1450M/5-6HRS)
Today we drive to Syabrubesi the starting point of our trek. The drive is quite scenic
along banks of Trishuli river with beautiful views of valleys, meadows, rivers and
mountains.
Overnight in Syabrubesi. -
Day 02SYABRUBESI TO GATLANG VILLAGE(2200M/6HRS)
Today we begin our trek. It is a steep ascend until the view point that provides panoramic view of the Ganesh himal and Langtang Lirung range and then descends down until Goljung village. From here it is a gradual ascend until the village of Gatlang. Gatlang is a small traditional Tamang village on a hillside.

Day 03GATLANG TO TATOPANI (2600M/6HRS)
Today we head towards Tatopani, descend down to Thambuchet past several chortens and Mani wall on our way to Chilime. We cross a suspension bridge and continue us ascend through terraced fields until we reach Tatopani. We can enjoy a hot bath at the natural hot spring in Tatopani.

Day 04TATOPANI TO THUMAN (2,400M) – NAGTHALI (6-7HRS)
Leaving behind Tatopani we trek through the dense alpine forest to the small Tamang village of Brimdang. From there we ascend to Nagthali viewpoint (3165m) which offers an extraordinary view of Langtang Lirung, Shishapangma, Ganesh Himal, Tibetan Himal and other mountain peaks. From here it is a gradual decent to Thuman.

Day 05THUMAN TO TIMURE (1,762M/6HRS)
Today we head towards Timure village through the ancient salt trade route to Tibet. We descend down to the Bhote Koshi river and cross over the suspension bridge and continue along the Bhote Koshi river to Timure.

Day 06TIMURE TO BRIDDIM (2230M/5-6HRS)
Today we continue to follow the trail upstream along the Bhote Koshi River until we reach Lingling. Then we gently ascend through rhododendron forest to reach the village of Briddim. Briddim is a small Tibetan influenced Tamang village.
Overnight in Briddim.

Day 07BRIDDIM TO SYBRUBESI (1460M/4 HRS)
Today is the last day of our Tamang Heritage Trial Trek. Today we head back to Syabrubesi, the trail is mostly a descent through forests with the beautiful view of the Langtang Lirung and Ganesh Himal along the way.

Day 08SYABRUBESI TO KATHMANDU
Today we retrace our drive back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival check in to your hotel and rest of the evening is free to rest and relax. Overnight in Kathmandu.
