Langtang valley popularly known as the “valley of glacier” is the nearest Himalayan region from Kathmandu Valley. This trek offers an opportunity to experience the diverse flora and
fauna of this region along with astounding view of the snowcapped peaks. The trek passes through verdant forests, high pastures, typical Sherpa villages and ethnic Tamang villages with their unique rich culture and tradition. Langtang valley trek begins from Syabru Besi, a small town in the outskirts of the Langtang National Park. The journey continues through small villages, farmlands and verdant forest to Kyanjin Gompa. We climb the Tserko Ri which provides excellent view of the Langtang range and the peaks around.

Itinerary

  • Day 01KATHMANDU TO SYABRUBESI (1,503M/5-6HRS)

    Today we drive to Syabrubesi the starting point of our trek. The drive is quite scenic
    along banks of Trishuli river with beautiful views of valleys, meadows, rivers and
    mountains.

  • Day 02TREK TO LAMA HOTEL (2480M/6HRS)

    Today the trail goes along the Langtang river across forests of oak and rhododendron, verdant meadows and several Tamang villages, stunning vista of great Himalayan peaks and finally ascends through Rimche and end at Lama Hotel. Overnight in Lama HotelOvernight in Kathmandu.

  • Day 03LAMA HOTEL TO LANGTANG VILLAGE (3430M/6-7HRS)

    You begin with a gentle ascend above the Langtang Khola. The trail goes through rhododendron and pine forest with view of the Langtang Lirung and further up to the meadows of Ghoda Tabela. Further on, the route opens up into a wide valley of yak pastures and scattered Tamang villages with water-driven mills and prayer wheels. Overnight in Langtang village.

  • Day 04LANGTANG VILLAGE TO KYANJING GOMPA, EXCURSION TO KYANJIN RI (4400M/6- 7HRS)
    After an early breakfast in Langtang Village, embark on an adventurous trek towards
    Kyanjin Gompa. The trail presents breathtaking vistas of the Langtang Valley and the surrounding mountains. Arriving at Kyanjin Gompa, a charming Buddhist monastery, take in the serene atmosphere and immerse yourself in the local culture. In the afternoon, set out on an exhilarating excursion to Kyanjin Ri, reaching an altitude of 4400m, where you’ll be rewarded with sweeping panoramic views of the Langtang
    mountain range. Capture memorable moments before descending back to Kyanjin
    Gompa for a peaceful overnight stay in the heart of the Himalayas. Overnight in

  • Day 05EXCURSION TO TSERKO RI (OPTIONAL) (4,984M/ 5-6 HRS)

    After a hearty breakfast, you have the option for an exhilarating day trek to the summit of Tserko Ri. The trek takes around five hours and rewards you with awe-inspiring views of the Yala Peak (5,520m), Langtang Ri (7,205m), Langtang Lirung (7,227m), and Naya Khang (5,844m), among other majestic peaks. The panoramic vistas from Tserko Ri are truly breathtaking and worth the effort.

    After enjoying the splendid views and capturing unforgettable memories, you descend back to Kyanjin Gompa, where you can rest and relax amidst the tranquil Himalayan surroundings.

  • Day 06 KYANJIN GOMPA TO LAMA HOTEL (2,480M/ 5-6 HRS)

    After breakfast retrace your hike back to Lama Hotel. The trail is mostly downhill past forest and villages with great scenic view.

  • Day 07LAMA HOTEL TO SYABRUBESI (1,503M/6HRS)

    On this day, we embraced the majestic beauty of the Himalayas as we hiked through rhododendron forests, crossed suspension bridges, and marveled at the terraced fields. The day’s journey was a perfect blend of natural wonders and cultural encounters with the warm-hearted locals. As we reached the charming village of Syabrubesi, we found solace in the traditional Nepali architecture and shared stories with fellow trekkers, creating cherished memories that will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

  • Day 08SYABRUBESI TO KATHMANDU (1,400M/5-6 HRS)

    On the last day, the drive offers a picturesque views of terraced fields, charming villages, and stunning landscapes. As we descended, we left the high mountains behind, embracing the warmth of the lower regions. Arriving in Kathmandu, we concluded our journey with a profound sense of accomplishment and gratitude for the beauty of Nepal’s diverse landscapes. Overnight in Kathmandu.
