Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek, is the most popular, short and relatively easy trek in the foothills of the Annapurna region. This trek is perhaps the ultimate trek suitable for those who are short in time and yet wishes to experience beauty of the Himalayas. This trek offers fantastic views of the mountains, with the glimpses of the traditional village life of the Gurung and Magar tribe along with the picturesque setting of the mountains dominating the background. The major highlight of this trek is the mesmerizing view of sunrise from the top of Poon Hill over the Annapurna, Machhapuchre and other peaks.
Itinerary

Day 01DRIVE / FLY TO POKHARA (820M)
The first day driving or flying from Kathmandu to Pokhara, which takes approximately 6-7 hours by road & 30 minutes by flight. Depart from Kathmandu in the morning and follow the Prithvi Highway. Enjoy the picturesque landscapes of Nepal, passing through lush valleys, terraced fields, and charming villages along the way. Arrive in Pokhara in the afternoon, ready to explore the beautiful lakeside city and unwind after the long drive.

Day 02DRIVE TO HILE (2-3 HRS) & HIKE TO BANTHATI (2,210M/ 2 HRS)
On this day, you’ll start by driving from Pokhara to Hile, where your exciting trekking adventure will begin. The drive itself offers glimpses of the stunning Nepalese countryside. Upon reaching Hile, you’ll set out on a scenic hike towards Banthati. The trail will take you through lush forests and picturesque landscapes, providing ample opportunities to soak in the natural beauty of the region. After a 2-hour hike approximately, you’ll arrive at Banthati, situated at an altitude of 2,210 meters.

Day 03BANTHATI TO GHOREPANI (2874M/5 HRS)
On Day 3 of your itinerary, you will set out from Banthati to continue your trek towards Ghorepani. The trail will lead you through diverse landscapes, ranging from dense forests to open meadows, offering captivating views along the way. As you ascend to an altitude of 2,874 meters, the air will become crisp, and the panoramic vistas of the surrounding mountains will leave you in awe. The trek will take approximately 5 hours, and upon reaching Ghorepani, you can rest and unwind in this charming village.

Day 04GHOREPANI TO TADAPANI (2630M/6 HRS)
Wake up early morning and hike about 45 minutes to Poon Hill (3210m) for sunrise view. Poon hill offers the best sunrise view over the high mountains, as the sun rises, the views are breathtaking with the wide Himalayan scenery stretching from Dhaulagiri to Manaslu in the east, with the mighty Annapurna range is a fantastic experience to observe. After enjoying the beautiful view, you then descend down to Ghorepani. After a hearty breakfast you continue your journey through forest of pine and rhododendron to Tadapani.

Day 05TADAPANI TO GHANDRUK (2012M/4 HRS)
Today’s hike will be short and easy, mostly downhill, you will descend gently through forests of rhododendron and oak with the sounds of birds twittering all the way to Ghandruk, a traditional Gurung village. In Ghandruk you will visit the traditional handicraft centre and the Gurung museum to understand their culture and their way of life.

Day 06 TREK FROM GHANDRUK TO JHINU DADA , DRIVE TO POKHARA (820M/4-5 HRS)
On this day, you will embark on an exciting trek from Ghandruk to Jhinu Dada, surrounded by breathtaking mountain vistas and lush landscapes. The trek offers a moderate challenge with ample opportunities to immerse yourself in the region’s natural beauty. After reaching Jhinu Dada, you’ll have the unique opportunity to relax and rejuvenate in the natural hot springs, providing a soothing respite for your tired muscles. In the afternoon, you’ll board a scenic drive back to Pokhara (820m), where you can enjoy the relaxed ambiance of this lakeside city, unwind at the lakeshore, and reflect on the incredible journey you’ve had so far.

- All ground transport in sharing jeep or bus. (Private transport can be arranged upon request at additional cost)
- One night accommodation in 3-4* category hotel after the trek in Pokhara.
- One-day sightseeing with entrance fee accompanied by a local tour guide as per itinerary. (Optional at additional cost)
- Accommodation in trekkers lodge/tea house during the trek.
- Only breakfast during the stay in Pokhara and three vegetarian meals along with one coffee/tea during the trek. (Non-veg meals can be arranged at additional cost).
