1. Top Tips for Trekkers
Before packing your bag with your trekking gear, consider the infrastructure along the path you intend to go. While some treks call for complete independence, including camping outside and purifying your water as you go, other routes include refuges or simple teahouses along the way. Here are some of the key considerations:
- Choose the right destination: Find the best trekking routes for you since some can be more challenging than others and might not be suitable for everyone.
- Choose the right agent/guide/itinerary/cost: For the best trekking experience, find the right trekking agent, guide, detailed itinerary, and expense details before your departure. You might need to carry extra cash just to ensure you remain prepared for unforeseen circumstances.
- Listen to your guide: ALWAYS LISTEN TO YOUR GUIDE. ALWAYS. They know the terrains, weather conditions, etc. better than anyone. They are guides for a reason.
- Plan beforehand: Make sure you have the route permit, bookings for lodging, etc. to avoid unnecessary hassles during your trip.
- Travel light: Only carry must-need weight with you so that you can trek with more ease. Leave the excess luggage back at your hotel or with your agent.
- Listen to your body: Some treks are more difficult than others. Take proper trekking gear with you. If you can’t continue your trek then stop right there. Do not take unnecessary risks that can prove fatal in extreme conditions. And, take altitude sickness seriously. Talk to your guide and they will help you at any point.
With everything sorted, here we have listed the top 15 trekking routes in Nepal for your consideration.
